FAQ

Do I have to live in Indianapolis to be in the guild? Not at all! We have members from all over Central Indiana and even a few from farther away.

Is your guild a place for newbie quilters? How about quilters who don’t necessarily quilt modern? Of course! Some of our members joined without having finished a single quilt while others have been at it for decades. Some of our members have styles that veer mostly traditional, some are transitional, some are even art quilters. We welcome various styles and levels of experience.

Where and when do you meet? We have meetings each month on a Sunday afternoon at 2 PM, typically the third Sunday, on Zoom and the Glendale branch of the Indianapolis Public Library. Meetings with hands-on activities and other special events might be in-person or online only. See the Events tab for specifics.

Can I come to a meeting even if I am not a member? Yes! We encourage potential guild members to check us out to see if we’re a good fit.

Can I bring my children? Yep! We don’t know how entertaining it’ll be for young ones but we welcome them in our space.

How big is the guild? We usually have 75-90 dues-paying members each year. Monthly meeting attendance is often 20–30 people.

What are the benefits of joining the Indy Modern Quilt Guild? Hanging out with a group of fun, like-minded quilters. The opportunity to take part in swaps, challenges, retreats, workshops, and other members-only activities. Automatically becoming a member of the Modern Quilt Guild, which includes discounts on QuiltCon registration and a variety of other benefits.

How much are dues? Dues are $48 for a calendar year, $30 for new members joining in July or later.
