May Meeting — Jelly Roll 500, Last Time @ This Location (In Person)

We will have our usual announcements and updates before we kick off an afternoon of sewing. This meeting will be in-person only, so if you cannot make it, please check your email for all the details on upcoming programming.
It’s the Month of May in Indianapolis, so bring your favorite jelly roll (or 40 2.5″ strips of fabric) and get ready to race! We’ll have several categories of prizes for winners, and a trophy for the fastest driver, I mean sewist, of the day.
Never heard of a jelly roll race? This is a quick and easy quilt top made from 1,600 inches of fabric. Most can finish this simple strip project in less than an hour!
Most of your local quilt shops will have jelly rolls from various fabric designers and lines, but if you’re looking for a great selection, check out Green Fairy Quilts online.
Beyond the standard layout (1 roll of 40 strips), there have been some other alternative layouts and sizes that have popped up. Learn about making one larger or smaller here. Or, add in some accent squares. Or even a focus fabric. Mini Charm Packs are a great addition too.

Not interested in racing? No problem! You can still bring your machine (or handwork) and your current projects or just join us for some social time and cheer on our competitors. Tables and chairs are provided, but don’t forget your extension cords.
